 St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Ballinger, Texas, would 

like to invite everyone to the annual Parish Fall Festival.  This year the festival will take place on Sunday, September11, 2016.  

Don't feel like cooking?  We will be serving a NEW and different menu this year consisting of Brisket, coleslaw, beans, trimmings and dessert.  We will begin serving at 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM.  

Dine in meals will sell for $10.00 for Adults; $5.00 for children.  Drive-thru plates will sell for $10.00 each.

Come inside and stay for our Live Auction, silent auction, BINGO, Fancy Stand and children's games.

Enter our raffles!  Raffle prizes will be a $1,200 Gourmet Gas Grill; 40" Flat screen TV; or a $250 Walmart Gift Certificate.  The ladies of our Altar Society will be raffling a hand-made quilt.

Thank you in advance for supporting our festival.  A large portion of the proceeds go to help support our Ballinger Community Food Pantry.

The British Invasion of the 1960’s takes place again on August 6that the Brownwood Coliseum in Brownwood, Texas.  The two most popular rock groups of all time, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones will be represented by the internationally known tribute bands, Abbey Road and Jumping Jack Flash.  The evening will provide alternating sets with the two bands coming together on stage for an amazing encore which makes this show an once-in-a-lifetime event.  A musical “shoot out of the hits” complete with costume changes to answer the liveliest debate in rock history…which band is the greatest?

The event, which benefits the West Texas Rehabilitation Center is Presented by Central Texas Farm Credit; Entertainment Sponsor, KTAB NEWS ; Stage Sponsors – Accurate Air Solutions, Affiliated Bank and Black Plumbing.  Additional support comes from Citizens National Bank of Brownwood, and KOHLER Company of Brownwood.

The Beatles tribute band, Abbey Road brings the mop top haircuts, harmonies and boyish charm of everybody’s favorite” Liverpudlians” to the stage.  They also play modern reissues of the exact same instruments and amps used by the Fab Four. Jumping Jack Flash has the privilege of re-creating a Rolling Stones live performance by delivering what audiences come to see…the theatrics and power of the great band in its prime.  Music from all periods of the bands’ legendary careers will be offered for the evening. 

Beatles vs Stones is a show that everyone who likes or can relate to rock n’ roll music will want to see!

Options for the evening event include Dinner & Show table seating or General Show Admission with upper Coliseum seats.  Dinner & Show reserved tables of 8 are available for $500 – individual tickets are $75.  General Admission tickets for theshow only are $25.  For information, to reserve tables or purchase tickets, contact 325-660-8338 or 325-660-8334 or go to WestTexasRehab.org.  General Admission tickets may also be purchased in Brownwood at Wendlee Broadcasting, KOXE Radio or the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce and the West Texas Rehabilitation in Abilene, Texas.

Local support of the Beatles vs Stones’ benefit show includes:   Wendlee Broadcasting-KXYL Newstalk FM & AM, KQBZ The Breeze FM, KSTA Coleman AM; KOXE FM-KBWD AM; and the Early High School Key Club.   Instrumental in the success of the event are program committee members Calvin Fryar, 

John Guest, Anna Hernandez, Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club Members, Ted & Martha Shelton, Rex Tackett, Dana Thompson and Evy Winn.  Host Hotel for this year’s event is La Quinta Inn of Brownwood.

The West Texas Rehabilitation Center is a non-profit organization formed in 1953 which is dedicated to providing outpatient rehabilitative care to more than 500 children and adults each day, regardless of a patient’s financial circumstance.  Proceeds from events help support patient services in order to improve the quality of life of all those served by the Rehab Center.
